Thy name is Judas

Same story, different name. Pär Ericsson refused to sign a new contract with GAIS and has jumped over to DSS. He should have checked what has happened to almost all other players that has thought they were too good for GAIS.
Example: Ekong wanted to win titles. So he went to Djurgården, was put on the bench was were close to watching the team beeing relegated. Good riddence.

Example: Kari Stephensson. Where is he now? No seriously, because I think his mother is getting worried..

Examples: Halsti, Levon, Durmaz etc etc... GAIS made them good. They were never seen again after leaving.

Pär will not be missed. He misses way too many chances, always falls down when recieving the ball under pressure and falls out of the games too often.

He was never a saviour, he was just a stand-in for the injured man that is now back.

STÖRST.

BÄST.

VACKRAST.

BJÖRN ANDERSSON!

Aces High, Wanderson is Wild

Busy days ahead. Currently enduring a night shift, as usual when I write here. Tomorrow I have to regain some honor by winning the TWGBYH-group's poker pot. It was a long time since I did and I feel respect is slipping away. Unfortunatly I do like thoose All In's... But not tonight. Dicipline is the road to glory, and I am heading for the on-ramp.

When I've won this I will celebrate all sunday by washing clothes and preparing for Chicago.

Then comes monday. Derby day. ifk vs GAIS. Three fresh points for us. No bathing for me this christmas. That's what I hope for. According to the bet GAIS will have to win by two goals or at least score two goals in a victory or it's bath time come december 24th. Not to worry. The reason? I have three. Wanderson Do Carmo. Pär Ericsson. Dime Jankulovski. Bring on thoose fallen angels. By the way, note that all deamons are former angels, including Hin Håle himself...

Poetry of Life

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever

Come Hell or High Water

It's 19.09 (*beep*) and the workday is winding down, one hour to go. Track & field on the telly. Shitty excuse for sports. If it ain't two teams and one ball of some kind then it's not a proper sport.

Aaaaanyway... I have a problem. Two days 'til the GAIS-train rolls towards Henkeborg and I still feel a bit ill. Can't have that. At the moment it's held at bay by a twice-daily dose of Fernet Branca but tomorrow is a 17 hour workday and that can be the last drop that makes it blossom to a full scale virus invasion of the immune-system.

So I need all fingers to be crossed. All breaths to be held. All gods to be spoken to. And don't forget the dark lords either, I'm taking no chances.

If all goes well I'll be there, even if I have to over-medicate myself compleatly on Fernet. And you'll get some drunken live-blog-entries come sunday. One can only hope...

Half time

The swedish football season just hit the half time mark and now goes into the last half of the games. And this is the same when it comes to summer. So here comes a resumé as well as a look at things to come.

First, off course, is GAIS. We have played good football and Wandersson has been fenomenal. This is good. But we don't win games because we concede way too many goals. That sucks.
So from GAIS I demand a lot more from the last half of the season. Maybe Calum and Romarinho will give us the wins we desperatly need?

When it comes to general festivities I have held a low profile this summer. But still some great parties, not least the hat-party that you can see in the picture here. Apart from that me and IA have gotten a little tipsy at Rockbaren, some good nights as well!

More to come here as well I'm sure, but nothing is set in stone just yet. Probably a hippie party in august to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Woodstock.

When it comes to travels me, IA went to Rüdesheim am Rhein to check out wine country. With us we had "the finnish femme" to add some female beauty and rather sharp wit. Here beers were drunk, meat was devoured and Shitguy was played. A great trip that feels even better now with some distance to it. More trips will come, that much is certain already and will be dicussed further down.

So that was how it's been so far. Now for the future.

One of the major events will be the day when I finally get that licence. Lots of grown-up points there. About time, yes I know...

Then there is some loose plans to fish for mackerel further up on the west coast. Kalvö in september is the plan. Earlier if oppertunity presents itself. And fishing in general needs to be more frequent from now on!

Another idéa is to go to Malmö and it's summer festival. A visit down to Majk and then further down to Malmö is the idéa. This is in august if it works out. I know, Malmö... but I have it on good athority that it might be fun.

But the big trip will be Chicago and a visit to the Chicago Riot Fest, with Cock Sparrer headlining it all. If you know who Cock Sparrer is then enough said. But if you don't then you better hit YouTube and check it out. It's proper music. But it's not just music, we'll try to fit in some baseball, waterfalls and some rollercoasters as well. If you have any ideas about what to do there, let us know!

Save Us Jeebus!

This season GAIS has scored goals. But that is not the defining aspect of GAIS transformation from last season. Regretably.
No, what has been GAIS main transformation is the shaky defence. Two games in a row we have conceded goals in the very last minute and lost very important points.

We need a defender, a fighter and a general.

Can it be that we have found the man for the job?

This is Calum Angus.

Originally from Portsmouth he has most recently played football in the US. Was able to google the following fact, cut/pasted straight to the blog for your convinience:

"Angus Named All-American. Voted to first team by NCAA Division I head coaches. -Calum is obviously a great player and extremely deserving of this honor, Billiken head coach Dan Donigan said.

Angus, who also earned first-team All-Region plaudits from the NSCAA, is widely considered one of the best defenders in the country."

Welcome to the fight Calum!

Derby Classico - 6 days

For the first time before the derby I felt some nerve today. I was watching a YouTube video of Gårdakvarnar och skit and got that anxious restless feeling you get before a big game. We still have Örebro to play before the derby but, important though that game is, I still look towards the derby as the next big thing.

So I thought I'd do a little countdown here on the blog. Today is dedicated to Hédinsson and his winning goal from the last derby. It's unlikely that he will play this time around but I for one would not regret seeing him come on to score yet another winning derby-goal.

I know some readers of the blog, and writers even, support another team. But that's their problem.
Because "here we go, we go! We got the champagne on ice! 'Cause here comes our GAIS! Here we go, we go!"

Monday evening coming down

Picture from GAIS.se

So it finally happened. New season. New stadium. New striker.

We were promised better atmosphere. We were promised tighter stands closer to the action. We were promised more attacking football. We were promised more goals.

GAIS delivered. The stadium delivered.

ÖIS 1-5 GAIS.

Thanks for a historic premiere.

'Nough said.

HERE WE GO!

Today's the day. Derby against ÖIS and three points to get us going in this years league. That's the plan at least. At this precise moment in time I have a hard time getting into gear though after last night's party that was, in a word, hawaii.

Got to bed at five and woke up at nine. Time to open the first beer soon enough and bravely walk forward into the light. I wonder how my head will react to two hours of singing and shouting and more beer though. It feels rather frail...

But enough self-pity. It's finally game-day and that wich I have been waiting on for several month will finally happen. GAIS will walk onto the green grass of Gamla Ullevi and kick some backslick-mongo ass!

Here we go, we go! We've got the champagne on ice, 'cause here comes our GAIS! Here we go we go...

Football is dead, all hail the traitors!

This post isn't news. It's not written to educate you as I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here.
It is written out of pure bitterness. Or as IA would have said:
"I am not angry. I'm just sad and dissapointed..."

Pehrsson, GAIS manager, said this in an interview when he got the following question:

-Can you guarantee that you will coach GAIS next season?
-
I have a contract for another two years and I am fully set on completing that contract

About a week later he takes the boat over to Denmark, without saying anything to the GAIS board, and negotiates a contract with another club. This after he handpicked all the players and spent all GAIS transfer money for the next season...

Now I understand that today beeing a manager is just a job like any other and like any of us a manager will move to a new club/company if the money is much better. I accept, if not like, that.

But when did it become O.K. to decive and lie and treat the fans and board like fools in order to further your own cause? When did a promise or a given word stop mean anything more than temporary wind?

Pehrsson is not the first, James Keene for one comes to mind..., nor will he be the last. But I will always hate the lying bastards and hope they forever fail miserably in everything they do.

In retrospect Wiltons acting when he left the club was positively a beacon of straightforwardness and honesty. Don't get me wrong, he's a cunt and will never be allowed inside the holy city (Göteborg) again. But still better than Keene and Pehrsson I'd say.

All hail amature football, that's all I have to say.

Dicipline (or lack thereof)

The other day I was concerned that my lack of dicipline would set me back in my quest for the two drivers liences that I am gunning for. This would prove to be a valid concern since I did indeed book a trip to Dublin just one day after the last entry. Cudos to Wonks who saw it coming btw.
In my defence I got very cheap seats on the plane and I have never been to Ireland so it was well past due. Guinness brewery here we come! Licences will not be set back too much I hope. It is still the plan that I will have that mc licence by this coming summer.

In other news, me Packe and Peder went off to Örebro the other day for the away game Örebro-GAIS. It was a miserable game in a miserable town, and we spent 10-11 hours on a bus getting there and back. I ventured to claim that that in itself takes dicipline to do, but the answer I got back was off course that it has nothing do to with dicipline and all to do with stupidity. But that was from someone living in Stockholm so what can you expect?

All in all it was a good day although a win would have made it sooo much better naturally.

In a last minute claim of dicipline I can at least report that I have in one day done the dishes, the laundry AND cleaned the flat. I felt very proud of the achievement. "Not very manly, is it?" was the answer from Stockholm...

Frid.
