TSO bloggs live from Dublin
Came to the hotel just in time to hear the end result and dump off the bags. Then off pub-hunting. After a proper pub crawl I can say that I wish sweden had more pubs like this. Well more pubs period. There should never be more than ten meters between pubs!
Tonights plans include more pubs and also a Thin Lizzy tribute concert. The boys are back in town!
Now I really can't keep writing here, by beer is getting warm.

Football is dead, all hail the traitors!
It is written out of pure bitterness. Or as IA would have said:
"I am not angry. I'm just sad and dissapointed..."
Pehrsson, GAIS manager, said this in an interview when he got the following question:
-Can you guarantee that you will coach GAIS next season?
-I have a contract for another two years and I am fully set on completing that contract
About a week later he takes the boat over to Denmark, without saying anything to the GAIS board, and negotiates a contract with another club. This after he handpicked all the players and spent all GAIS transfer money for the next season...
Now I understand that today beeing a manager is just a job like any other and like any of us a manager will move to a new club/company if the money is much better. I accept, if not like, that.
But when did it become O.K. to decive and lie and treat the fans and board like fools in order to further your own cause? When did a promise or a given word stop mean anything more than temporary wind?
Pehrsson is not the first, James Keene for one comes to mind..., nor will he be the last. But I will always hate the lying bastards and hope they forever fail miserably in everything they do.
In retrospect Wiltons acting when he left the club was positively a beacon of straightforwardness and honesty. Don't get me wrong, he's a cunt and will never be allowed inside the holy city (Göteborg) again. But still better than Keene and Pehrsson I'd say.
All hail amature football, that's all I have to say.

Dicipline (or lack thereof)
In my defence I got very cheap seats on the plane and I have never been to Ireland so it was well past due. Guinness brewery here we come! Licences will not be set back too much I hope. It is still the plan that I will have that mc licence by this coming summer.
In other news, me Packe and Peder went off to Örebro the other day for the away game Örebro-GAIS. It was a miserable game in a miserable town, and we spent 10-11 hours on a bus getting there and back. I ventured to claim that that in itself takes dicipline to do, but the answer I got back was off course that it has nothing do to with dicipline and all to do with stupidity. But that was from someone living in Stockholm so what can you expect?
All in all it was a good day although a win would have made it sooo much better naturally.
In a last minute claim of dicipline I can at least report that I have in one day done the dishes, the laundry AND cleaned the flat. I felt very proud of the achievement. "Not very manly, is it?" was the answer from Stockholm...

- Laptop (mainly so that I can play Football Manager in the sofa)

- Planetickets to Dublin or some such (So that I can buy a pint of Guinness in an irish pub in ireland insead of an irish pub in Göteborg)

Pain to the Max!
"Sooner or later it was going to catch up with you. You'd find that lady luck was a whore and you were fresh out of cash"
-Max Payne (from the game, not the movie)
And there is a reason that I take a quote from the games and not the movie since it was way too little quality "Max Payne-feeling" in the movie. The games are all about the cool comments and the atmosphere.
The movie only ever gets that feeling right a couple of times towards the end.
Still a good enough movie, perfect for a hang-over choice. And Mila Kunis from That 70's Show acctually works pretty well in her femme fatale role in this movie. Took me a while to even realize it was her.
All in all I give it 3/5 and recommend that you watch it. Do it.... *shaking fist*

Do you have a flag?
But we have a couple of things going for us. It's the good x-ray team and as of yet no über-idiots causing trouble. So I have enough time to write down my latest idea. I think it might be time to break out of this Reinfeldt-abused country and start my very own abused country.
A couple of problems arise when you plan to do this. First off is the flag. It should symbolize unity and strength and strike fear into thoose that look upon it. I think I will leave it to you, the readers to create this. The winner will have the flag shown on the blog as well as an honorary citizenship in Totalitaria. The name is a work in progress as well...
Second is the currency, but that is easy. Just put the face of the glorious leader (me) on there and start printing. Name of the currency might be 1 Kalash = 100 Nikov.
But all this is minor things beside the question of how the country will be run.
It will be a dictatorship with me the supreme leader, given my power from the Gods. That's right, plural. I'm bringing back the norse religion. Only now Loke is in charge...
And you can only become a citizen by sponsorship from a minister of the state. The rest will be slaves. Because as they say: "Slavery: It get's shit done".
Second most important post... I was going to reveal a defence minister. But hey who am I kidding? We will start off a small country without any natural resources. What we need is an offensive minister. We will be like locust swarming the countryside picking up more men and land as we go. They will join our forces of die refusing. And at the front of the never ending assult I hope to find IA. Will you accept this call to arms? You will have complete strategic freedom as long as you bring Norway to heel first of all.
Financial minister now... I am thinking Miss Wonkyness. Mainly because she is the only one that has seen three zeros on a bill without the word monopoly written beside it.
The posts of education and propaganda will be appointed to the same person, SD. Not that there is any connection between the two posts mind you...
Sports minister is the other important post to be appointed. As of yet undecided but any successful applicant will have as a single goal to further the sport of football and qualify us for the world cup. No other sports will exist. Syncronized swimming will be a punishable offence. Anyone caught doing gymnastics will be sentanced to life as a practice-wall when our worst shots pratice free kicks.
More ministers will be appointed as we go along. If you feel you have a role to play in this endeavour then do not hesitate to sign up. What do you have to loose? Except your life, should you dissappoint me.
Your Glorious and Divine Leader

Something is rotten in the football of Sweden
Sweden falls further and further from the top of the game as it is played in the world.
Swedish clubs strive and fight for a chance to shine in europe and play with the other teams out there. But swedish football closes in around itself and it's own little world tighter and tighter.
The same managers play the same system and the only thing that changes is which clubs they get paid by. And the clubs pay them. Willingly. How many teams must Jingblad, for example, abuse before clubs wake up and realizes that a new name is needed?
But no, once he is done with IFK Norrköping, his current victim, he will undoubtly find new employment with a premier division side or possibly a top first division team.
Well I wrote victim, but they are the ones that choose him off course. You can't blame rubbish managers for the fact that clubs are willing to pay them money. If some club suddenly told me I'd get paid to play premier division football you can bet your ass that I'd do it. And they can't blame anyone but themselves when I suck.
And that touches on another subject that I hate about football in sweden.
It's the fact that although I am absolutely rubbish, I have one thing going for me in my hunt for a spot in the first eleven. I am just the right age for a swedish manager to want to select me.
In the land where a player aged 24 is considered a promising prospect for the future my 29 years on this here earth puts me among thoose considered just ripe to be among the selected few.
When Arsenal, one of the greatest teams of the world, played today they fielded a starting midfield with the average age of 20 only to substitue two of them later in the game to give playing time to a 17 year old and a 16 year old!
Swedish coaches are reluctant to let a 21 year old time as a sub because "he is still young and has lots to learn. We must'nt rush his development"... How exactly will he learn if he never gets to play? Are swedish youths so much worse than the rest of the worlds? Off course not.
BP sells one of their youths to Juventus. This is a player that, had he been bought by a swedish club in the premier division, would have had many years of loan deals to smaller clubs and b-side action to look forward to before his first chance as a sub for his premier side team. What happens in Juventus? Another of the greats of the world, full of superstars? They immidiatly play him in the first eleven, giving him pleny of taste of first team action.
That is how players learn. That is how they grow. That is how stars are born. Now I'm not saying that he is destined to become a star because they play him a few games, but he has the chance to become one because of it. Noone ever became a star on loan to Jönköping Södra.
And this is where I mean that swedish football is rotten to the core. The swedish FA are the ones that ultimately push for a development like the one we have now. They are behind it all.
This is most obvious in the choice of national coach selection. A man so boring and predictable that even Albania has no problem organizing a draw agains us. A man that chooses to play Daniel Andersson, MFF, before Kim Källström, Lyon. A man that, having a choice between a Rosenberg that has started delivering goals for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and up and coming starlet Berg in holland, manages to find yet a third and oh so swedish option. Let's give Larsson, Helsingborg IF, a call and see if the old fart has one more championship in him... Now don't get me wrong. That man has done wonders for swedish football and I'll always love him for it. But his time has come and gone. The young must take over.
Furthermore people complain that Ibrahimovic etc don't perform in the national team when they are so good at their clubs. They talk of a lack of heart and will to sacrifice... But how can Ibra possibly be as good in Sweden, the way Lagerbäck has us playing, as he is in Inter with the quality and freedom he has there? Mould the tactics around the players and not vice versa!
And ultimately the swedish referees. They do love their wissles and they prevent any game form building any momentum. This could be laid at the FA's feet as well possibly. If it's them giving out the orders that the ref's are following. But I fear that that is at best only part of the problem. Swedish ref's are just not good enough. That they have idiotic guides about how to interpet the rules don't help off course.
I watched Man Utd-Liverpool earlier today. Had a standard swedish ref been in charge of that game he would probably have called the whole game off after showing his 5th red card in the 20th minute. In england there had been what? One yellow card?
I'm fed up. so here is my quick fix for swedish football:
- New referees, preferably from england/scotland
- Sack everyone in the FA. Everyone
- Bring in new managers, with new ideas. Noone that, at this point, has coached a premier side team over 5 years should be allowed to coach ever again.
- Give the young players time on the pitch. You can't decide if he has what it take until ha has played at least 5-10 games.

So Fell Autum Rain
I noticed an important change the other day. I was walking home through Slottskogen, the big park, in the rain. And it hit me, I have gone into autum mode. I tried to switch back to summer mode by pure force of will but as soon as I let my mind wander again I found it went back to autum mode. For thoose of you not already in sync with the workings of my mind (yeah thank God right?) I give you this list of examples of the modes. This is how the priorities change:
SPRING/SUMMER - AUTUM/WINTER
Outside serving area (Linnéterrassen) - Dark cellar pubs (Bishop's Arms)
Brooklyn Lager - Guinness
The Archipilago - The Cinema
GAIS at Ullevi - The Premier League in a sofa
All Along The Watchtower(Jimi Hendrix) - Not Going Away(Ozzy)
Beer infront of the TV - Tea watching a movie on the projector
Go for a walk - Don't get out of bed
Sunglasses - Nightvision gogglges
Most of all I long for a pitch black Guinness in a comfy chair at Bishops Arms. I can practicly taste it. Alas I am stuck at the ER another 8 ½ hours. Maybe tomorrow night. Until then, some mood pictures:
It's not necessarily worse or more depressing or whatever. It's just more ...withdrawn perhaps. Slower, darker, less energetic. But sweet in it's own ways. Less going out meeting people and more meeting up with the people you already know and like. Which is much better since most people are idiots anyway... :)
So I have accepted that the summer is all but over. The autum is here.
Let the leaves die,
the darkness come,
the rain fall.
I stand ready.

Call to arms....
As i write this the guilds of Shinibana, CLOWN, Champions of the hall, Guild of fursu , Vlad Dracul and many others are in the pact and our ranks are growing every week as more and more guild join.
After two succesfull attacks against Orgrimar and Undercity and after some recruiting tehy decided to take on the City of the fairys(bloodelfs)
After massing at Lights hope chapel and after that moving on to the crossing that leads to Zul aman for summons we marched agains Silvermoon city.
Like a tide we swept through the streets of Silvermoon killing their guards and citizens, sparing no one.
The Guild of CLOWN, wich the writer belongs too, was the major guild in this battle, we had the tanks for both targets and alot of dps and healing and we managed very well.
Alas we were to few.
After a long battle when we managed to get the main target down to less than 40% horde reinforcements arrived mainly from the SWP rading guild OOM an dthey healed up the boss and killed our healers very quickly and later the gained more reinforcements that caused havok among our troops that finally found themself defeated, the battle continued a bit longer when we slowly fought our way out of the city again.
The next target of the pact is not revealed again, but know one thing Hefaistos and many other clowns will be there when the next attack takes off.
This was a quick introduction of the pact, hopefully more succesfull rewiev of attack will come later on.

Särna - the story behind the legend
The stoy is this: Four guys (TSO, IA, WillyBoy and The Borg) took a car and drove 7-8 hours north into a forrest so vast and dark that southern germany's Black Forrest seems a mere small shabby scale model. We set up basecamp in an old closed railwaystation some four kilometers from the nearest pizza. Soon we found that this spot had already been claimed. By one million and one mosqiutos. And in hindsight I can say that they may have drawn first blood, and won the war I guess since we went away and they are still there, but we won the battles and the ground were littered with the fallen mini-kamikazies.
Mosquitos were not our intended prey though. We had come for the fish. Unfortunally they had been tipped off, and had gone underground. Well underwater rather, but just as hard to find. First try were a bust, with The Borg the only one to catch something. A small perch.
We wrote this off as bad luck but as days passed things didn't get much better. Some perches here and there and one or two really small trouts were a far cry from the onslaugt of 2-3 kg trouts we wanted and half expected. So the last day we went to a Put & Take lake where we felt we would be guaranteed fish. Did we get any? Right you get the picture.
Unfortunatly the region suffered under a record heat wave that pushed the fishes to the bottom, and daily (and monstrous) thunderstorms didn't exactly help... One evening the lightning hit the powerline just outside the house, blowing up four(!!) fuseboxes and leaving us in utter darkness until about three in the night when a repairman came and fixed it. Still, it was just one more reason to stay up drinking a few beer infront of the fire and telling outragous storys...
Still, we were one week in the woods, every day by a new river or lake, caught some fish still and made lots of fires, some bbq's and spent the evenings playing Skitgubbe. All in all a great week. And one to be repeated I'm sure. With better luck in fishing though!
Last of all a thanks to The Borg for driving all those miles there and back again. Salut!

Oasis killed us...
We had noticed this guy standing in a shimmering circle acting all cool, and that really bugged us. So we crept up and I slid my dagger into his guts! Trouble was that it only made him angry. So angry, in fact, that he killed us both without even breaking a sweat.
So todays lesson? If you see a guy acting way cool then it's probably because he is. Leave him be.
Another lesson was to not go 'round attacking Oasis pirates, since they are invounerable... We leart this after about our third death. Some might call us slow to learn, but we like to think we are just determined to prevail. This round to the Oasis guys but the war to us!
Anyway, I leave you with this snapshot of us outside the mighty walls of Old Tarantia.
Watch your back out there, or you'll find my dagger in it!

Don't know how I came to dip up this little piece of history, particularly since I've never liked this kind of music. But a certain Saint Devil always played this group back in the days before I educated him in the fine art of music appreciation.
Anyway, after reconnecting old dusty neuro-pathways in the old lump of greymatter, this popped back into memory. Off course I had to share this rediscovery with you all, especially SD, to see if it strikes a cord in your memory as well.

Friends that I miss...
Sure, you meet friends like this wherever you travel, but some of the ones in Gwada I truly miss. Happily I took photos of them to remember them by. And now I want to share my memories with you, so here they are, some of the friends I met:
Tis guy we met the very first evening. Cool guy, but we wanted better companions so we never met him again after that.
We hung out many evenings with theese siblings, as they lived right next door from the hotel and they didn't demand a lot of money in order to come out and play. Maybe not the best of friends, but good enough.
This was an odd fellow. Met him in an restaurant and liked his name so we invited him to join us. That was before we realized that he was mixing it up with tequila, and some things just shouldn't be mixed so after a greeting we never heard from him again.
This was without a doubt the best friend we made on our trip to the islands. A local guy that had hardly ever even left the island. But what a guy. We hung out practically every night and had good old times. Him I miss most of all.
This little girl was another local one. She was pretty enough and decent company so we invited her a couple of evenings, but she didn't really leave much of a mark and was more of a hang-around than a real friend.
After realizing that it was unneccesary to meet the locals just a few at a time we got hold of a whole family of theese people. House and everything. They rode around with us on some of our excursions and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Good guys and gals...
We even met a danish guy that had settled on the islands. He came around for a party but in the end we thought it was boring to hang around with people from scandinavia when we were in the carribbean so we parted ways soon after.
Well that was the gang, and what a gang... Just lucky that there are plenty of friends here at home to keep me from missing then too much!

CALL TO ARMS
The russian bear has been woken, and he is not happy. Swedish intelligence confirm that attacks are imminent.
According to early reports the first wave will hit the swedish defences somewhere around eight or nine this evening. Defence minister Mellberg claims that our readyness is good. Our defences will hold.
But we have all heard that before, and back then we decided to concede a walk over in the end.
But then again, now we have a ballistic shield system, operated by general Isaksson, as well as some very deadly offensive weapons and troops under the command of generals Ljungberg, Elmander and Larsson.
And let's not forget our globally feard doomsday weapon, codename "Ibrahimovic".
Then we have our guerilla leaders Svensson and Andersson that will haress the russian troops and cut off supply lines in order to drain the russian offence of any materials they might use to hurt us.
I know there are concerns that they are just not trained enough to handle a threat like the russians, but like all good guerillas they make up for lack of training with determination and heart.
So I say only this: Bring 'em on!
This time we truly are prepared and once the russian threat has been annialated we will turn our eyes towards europe and Holland. This is the time for a new age of greatness for Sweden, and we shall reign surpreme in Europe!
And then? THE WORLD!

Thursday morning coming down
The rest of that night is a bit of a blur, but it ended around four, half past four, in the morning. That was after a bit of a hawaii-night at the Rockbar. And off course walking across Göteborg home to majorna with the mandatory stop at 7s Fastfood (loose translation, 7ans Gatukök) where mashed potatoes and meatballs were devoured much like the ancient T-Rex would devour an unlucky, and five minutes later extremely extinct, creature.
And since yesterday was spent beeing severly hung over and at work it didn't leave much time to reflect over the win here on the blog. Now I feel alittle better and it's time to make my entry.
Just in time to start getting exiced about the Spain game on saturday. I will also get a visit from Majk, an exile stockholmer living in Lund. Beers will be drunk and all will be well. And even if Sweden do not beat Spain we still have a good chance of going through by beating Russia in the last game so the nerves will be under control hopefully.
I would also like the thank Australia for the support and faith that surley helped Sweden in their win agains Greece. And also I'd like to say that off course there would be a 3a.m. text. If Sweden plays well the whole world should know it right away. :)
Also, I give myself a pat on the back for completing the longest entry in the history of the blog. And also thank you, for reading all the ramblings.
