Don't try telling me you ain't impressed

I noticed an important change the other day. I was walking home through Slottskogen, the big park, in the rain. And it hit me, I have gone into autum mode. I tried to switch
back to summer mode by pure force of will but as soon as I let my mind wander again I found it went back to autum mode. For thoose of you not already in sync with the workings of my mind (yeah thank God right?) I give you this list of examples of the modes. This is how the priorities change:
SPRING/SUMMER - AUTUM/WINTER
Outside serving area (Linnéterrassen) - Dark cellar pubs (Bishop's Arms)
Brooklyn Lager - Guinness
The Archipilago - The Cinema
GAIS at Ullevi - The Premier League in a sofa
All Along The Watchtower(Jimi Hendrix) - Not Going Away(Ozzy)
Beer infront of the TV - Tea watching a movie on the projector
Go for a walk - Don't get out of bed
Sunglasses - Nightvision gogglges
Most of all I long for a pitch black Guinness in a comfy chair at Bishops Arms. I can practicly taste it. Alas I am stuck at the ER another 8 ½ hours. Maybe tomorrow night. Until then, some mood pictures:
It's not necessarily worse or more depressing or whatever. It's just more ...withdrawn perhaps. Slower, darker, less energetic. But sweet in it's own ways. Less going out meeting people and more meeting up with the people you already know and like. Which is much better since most people are idiots anyway... :)
So I have accepted that the summer is all but over. The autum is here.
Let the leaves die,
the darkness come,
the rain fall.
I stand ready.
Tis guy we met the very first evening. Cool guy, but we wanted better companions so we never met him again after that.
We hung out many evenings with theese siblings, as they lived right next door from the hotel and they didn't demand a lot of money in order to come out and play. Maybe not the best of friends, but good enough.
This was an odd fellow. Met him in an restaurant and liked his name so we invited him to join us. That was before we realized that he was mixing it up with tequila, and some things just shouldn't be mixed so after a greeting we never heard from him again.
This was without a doubt the best friend we made on our trip to the islands. A local guy that had hardly ever even left the island. But what a guy. We hung out practically every night and had good old times. Him I miss most of all.
This little girl was another local one. She was pretty enough and decent company so we invited her a couple of evenings, but she didn't really leave much of a mark and was more of a hang-around than a real friend.
After realizing that it was unneccesary to meet the locals just a few at a time we got hold of a whole family of theese people. House and everything. They rode around with us on some of our excursions and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Good guys and gals...
We even met a danish guy that had settled on the islands. He came around for a party but in the end we thought it was boring to hang around with people from scandinavia when we were in the carribbean so we parted ways soon after.
Well that was the gang, and what a gang... Just lucky that there are plenty of friends here at home to keep me from missing then too much!
